While working as an art director and creative technologist at VIRTUE, the advertising agency born by VICE, we created a campaign called The Last Statement T-Shirt, for one of our clients, Carlings.
Addressing the conflict between wanting to buy more clothes but not further contribute to the climate crisis, with The Last Statement T-shirt we offered wearers a new option: to switch the message on your shirt without damaging it or buying a new one.
It works via a graphic logo that acts as a tracking point for a smart phone. Then, using Spark AR technology (the same tech Instagram uses on its face filters and stickers), the phone can digitally superimpose new designs on the tee. The user can choose from a variety of 20 different designs.
